πŸ“Ί Show Name: Missing You

πŸ“Ό Based on the Book By: Harlan Coben
🎬 Episode Count: 5 episodes
🌐 Streaming Service: Netflix
🎭 Genre: Mystery/ Crime Thriller with a splash of drama, plenty of secrets but also romance and maybe a heartbreak?

🌟 Long Story Short:

Based on Harlan Coben’s book, Missing You dives into the chaotic life of Detective Kat Donovan as she unravels a murder mystery tied to an online dating scam. Along the way, she uncovers shocking secrets about her father’s death and faces her past love, all while dodging literal danger at every turn. Basically, it’s a wild ride full of twists, turns, and the occasional “Wait, WHAT just happened?” moments.

🌈 My Thoughts:

First off, let’s give a big round of applause for the LGBTQ representation in this show! 🏳️‍🌈 Aqua, Kat's friend and Clint which is Kat's father. To be honest, it was refreshing and felt authentic. Representation like this makes the show feel real, and I'm here for it.

The dialogue? Sharp and memorable. My favorite quote has to be, “The only thing worse than bad coffee is bad company. And guess what, darling? I’m both.” Absolute icon. 😎

πŸ‘ Best Characters:

  • DI Donavan - The tough-but-softhearted detective you’d trust with your life. Her wit and dedication make her the glue holding this chaos together.
  • Charlie - The comedic relief we all need. His dry humor and loyalty? Chef’s kiss. πŸ’‹
  • Calligan - A crime boss with a big heart, but don’t let his innocence fool you—he’s got guts and grows into a key player in the mystery. I liked him.

πŸŽ‰ Best Moments:

  • When Titus, the show’s baddie, finally got what was coming to him. That showdown? Intense. πŸ”₯ And when Calligan gave us a plot twist? My jaw dropped
  • The scenes with Charlie?  Who said crime-solving can’t be fun? πŸ˜‚

😒 Worst Moments:

  • That ending. Ugh. Why, Netflix, WHY? It left so many unanswered questions. Like, I get the whole “leave them wanting more,” but I wanted closure, not frustration. 😩

πŸ₯ Final Verdict:

Missing You is a solid binge with thrilling plotlines and characters you’ll grow attached to (looking at you, Donavan). While the ending felt like a punch to the gut, the journey was worth it. If you love mystery with heart and a sprinkle of humor, this one’s for you. 🌟
